Lost Shtetl is a unique Lithuanian-Jewish cultural and heritage project that has been implemented by the Šeduva Jewish Memorial Fund in Šeduva since 2012. In addition to the restoration of the old municipal Jewish cemetery, the construction of several monuments, a museum dedicated to local Jewish history will be created. The aim of the museum is to create a unique monument and to present to the public the little-known history and culture of the lost Jewish shtetlekh of the region, mainly through the narration of Jewish people who were at home in Šeduva but who were able to escape the Holocaust. The exhibition will thus be based on voices of refugees. Lost Shtetl is a long-time partner of We Refugees Archive and assisted in the development of the Vilnius segment of our platform.
