The Aktives Museum, Fascism and Resistance idevelops different, participative formats of exhibitions, publications and events to encourage dealing with the National Socialist past and its effects on the present. The society emerged from a civic initiative that sought to raise public and political interest for places with National Socialist past, as the Gestapo headquarter in Berlin, and to establish memorials in these places. The library of the Aktives Museum contains testimonies about National Socialism and especially about the topics of flight and exile, including stories that are not yet famous. Therefore, there are parallels between the historical part of the We Refugees Archive and the sources of the Aktives Museum. For example, Max Diamant‘s testominies are both part of the We Refugees Archive and the Aktives Museum publication “Letzte Zuflucht Mexiko. Gilberto Bosques und das deutschsprachige Exil nach 1939” (“Last Refuge Mexico. Gilberto Bosques and the German Exile after 1939”).
