The Institute for Islamic Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin researches and teaches on societies of the Islamic world in the past and present as well as Muslim life in majority non-Muslim societies including Europe. In the focus area “Islam in Europe”, researchers and students critically examine, among other things, European migration and integration policies. In the winter term 2020/2021 the We Refugees Archive and the Institute of Islamic Studies are cooperating in the MA seminar “Refugee Narratives in the Light of Border Regime Research”: Students conduct interviews with refugees and compose articles on contextual topics that may be included in the archive.
