Migrants of the Mediterranean uses Humanitarian Storytelling to collect and present stories of migrants who have reached Europe via the Mediterranean Sea. After their arrival, mostly to Lampedusa, these people talk about their experiences in their country of origin and on their way to Europe. Migrants of the Mediterranean follows them on their way onwards to Italy and Europe and listens to their stories about their experiences with the European asylum system, discrimination, traumas, hurdles and hopes. Migrants of the Mediterranean’s approach to make visible the voices of refugees and stories of flight and arrival from their personal perspectives, links it with the We Refugees Archive project.
